Welcome to my life writing blog.

I am Julia Gross, a researcher and writer based in Perth, Western Australia and director of Pawlett Press a small imprint that publishes life stories, memoir, travel and family history writing.

As a member of the Katharine Susannah Prichard (KSP) Writers' Centre in Perth, I have contributed a selection of my memoir and family history writing to four anthologies: Truth or Lies, the KSP Past Tense Anthology, 2016 and Harvest published by Wild Weeds Press in 2017, Rewind published by Wild Weeds Press in 2019 and The Weight of History in 2020.

My three works of family history are 'They shall grow not old', Bud's story (2016) and Pack your Baggs: a family's journey from Newfoundland to Australia (2017) and Between maple leaf and wattle: Bede's journey published by Pawlett Press in 2020.

My poetry has been published in Creatrix the online journal of WA Poets Inc.

Some of my travel articles have appeared in The West Australian newspaper travel section.

The other blogs I currently maintain are: The Group of 97 Book Club and The Perth Bird Diary.
